The 20 Mile Athletic Center Colorado XCEL competitive gymnastics program is sanctioned by USA Gymnastics and is designed for the gymnast who wants to experience competitive gymnastics without the time and financial commitment of the USAG Junior Olympic program. The XCEL coaches are required to pass a background check, safety certification, and maintain a current USAG professional membership. XCEL is a great fit for the girl whose skills and abilities have progressed beyond the recreational class level and those interested in competing at the high school level. All interested gymnasts are evaluated by the coaching staff prior to being placed at a particular level; we focus on skills mastery, strength, flexibility, attitude, and sportsmanship for our XCEL team. For the 2017 season 20 Mile will offer Silver, Gold, and Platinum level teams. Level and progression requirements are based upon the USAG XCEL code of points at the compulsory and optional levels.
The 20 Mile Athletic Center XCEL coaching staff would like to thank all of the athletes who tried out for our 2017 USAG XCEL Gymnastics Team. Listed below are the selectees by level for the upcoming season, this is also posted at the gym as of Friday August 12, 2016. Congratulations to those girls who made the team, the easy part is now over. Many that were not selected were very close, and after another year of perfecting their skills, flexibility, and strength in our Advanced Classes they will be well prepared to tryout next season. Formal team practice at the selected level will begin Monday August 22nd at 6:00pm for the Silver level. All team athletes should come to practice in leo, with shorts if desired, and with a water bottle. Between now and the first practice, for Silvers only, I need to receive a confirmation email with your daughter’s name, birthdate, parent’s names, best contact numbers, and an email address or addresses that you frequently check. Alternates will remain in their current advanced class, and will be called up to team if spaces become available. Alternates should also respond via email with the above information if your daughter would like to be considered should a space become available. We will hold a parents meeting in early September to lay out the season, team policies, estimated fees, and coach introductions. Again, congratulations to all the girls and please get your contact information to me at email@example.com as soon as possible. Welcome to the 2017 season!
