WELCOME TO THE 20 MILE BOYS TEAM
The Boys Teach Coaching staff comprises coaches who have up to 20 plus years experience creating, developing and overseeing boys programs in Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Kansas and Florida. Our Boys Team staff is dedicated to not only creating strong gymnasts, but developing these young athletes into respectable, hard-working young men.
The 20 Mile Boys Team is an award-winning program dedicated to training male athletes to their highest potential. Created in 2010, the 20 MAC Boys Team has quickly made it’s name as one of the top teams in Colorado as well as nationally. The Boys Team started with 5 members and presently stands at approximately 70 team members. The 2014 season proved to be a breakout year yet with the Level 5 Team moving up from third place finish at state (2013) to second place at both State Championships and Region 9 Championships. Level 5 gymnast Isaiah Escalante became the first 20 Mile athlete to win both a State and Regional All-Around title. The Level 4, 6, and 7 Teams also continued to improve on their results from year’s past.
During the 2014-15 season the team continued thier success with strong performanes both in state and out; 2nd place at the Valeri Liukin Invitational in Dallas, TX (Level 5), 1st place at the Spinner’s Invitational in Austin, TX (Level 6), 1st place at the Peter Vidmar International in Los Angeles, CA (Level 5). At the 2015 State Championships the Level 4 Team placed 3rd, The Level 5 Team placed 2nd and the Level 6 Team placed 4th. Level 7 gymnast Matt Page won the All-Around title in his age group while many other athletes placed top 3. The Level 5 Team once again placed 2nd at the Region 9 Championships hosted by the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
The 2015-2016 year continued the momentum of the previous seasons with top 3 finishes of all teams throughout the season. At the 2016 State Championships all 35 eligible boys qualified to Regional Championships. At both the State and Regional Championships 20 Mile had more top 3 finishes in the all-around and team categories than any previous year. The boys continue to work hard in the gym and the community of Parker. The 20 Mile Boys donate their time to community outreach programs such as ‘Feed the Starving Children’ and raising money for National Alopecia Areata Awarness Month. We expect our young athletes to be leaders in the gym as well as the community of Parker.
The boys are currently working hard for their next season. In the 2016-2017 season the team will once again travel to 3 out-of-state meets: Levels 5 and 6 will head to Houston, TX for the Houston National Invitational February 23-26, Levels 7-9 will compete at the Sun Devil Classic in Phoenix, AZ February 24-27 and the travel team will head to Miami to compete in the Yeessooo! Invitational January 13-15.
Boys wishing to tryout for Team 20 Mile must schedule an evaluation with Coach Wes Olivas. Evaluations consist of attending two workouts with the current boys team at their regularly schedule practice times. To be considered, athletes and their families must have an understanding of team work and cohesiveness. To schedule and evaluation please contact Wes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
